About Counterstone ULTD Remodeling
The Story:
Counterstone ULTD is a mother and son business built on a genuine love for what we do. We didn’t start this company because it made sense on paper — we started it because transforming spaces is what we’ve always cared about, and we wanted to build something of our own.
Amy Garner (you might know her as Amy Hanners), co-founder and head designer, has spent more than 20 years in the countertop and home remodeling industry — it’s the only professional world she’s ever known. Before founding Counterstone, Amy spent over 15 years managing operations and sales at an established countertop company, developing deep expertise in materials, design, project coordination, and what it actually takes to deliver results that hold up to real daily life.
Mason Hanners, co-founder and operations lead, grew up around all of it. The industry wasn’t something he fell into — it was the environment he came up in. Today Mason handles sales, estimates, project management, and the day-to-day operations that keep every project moving from first call to final walkthrough.
Together they bring over two decades of hands-on industry experience to every project Counterstone takes on.
What You Can Expect Working With Us
With more than 100 projects completed across Acworth, Kennesaw, Woodstock, Marietta, and the greater Metro Atlanta area, we’ve built our reputation on a few things that genuinely matter to homeowners.
Designs delivered fast. Amy takes real pride in getting initial designs to clients quickly and turning revisions around without the back-and-forth delays that are common in this industry. Your time matters, and we treat it that way.
A team that stays accountable. Mason manages every project directly, which means you’re always talking to the person who actually knows the details of your job — not a call center or a middleman.
Work done on a real timeline. Delays are the norm in remodeling. We work hard to be the exception. We set honest expectations upfront and hold ourselves to them.
People who genuinely love what they do. Amy’s favorite part of the job is still the before and after — standing in a finished space and seeing the difference we made for a family. That passion drives how we approach every project, whether it’s a countertop replacement or a full kitchen remodel.
Serving the Communities We Know
Counterstone ULTD is based in the Acworth and Kennesaw area and serves homeowners throughout Cherokee County, Cobb County, and the broader Metro Atlanta market — including Woodstock, Marietta, Canton, Roswell, Cartersville, and surrounding communities.
We’re a local company. We know the neighborhoods, the homes, and the people we work for. That familiarity shapes how we approach every single project.
